The St. Francis Labyrinth is a permanent outdoor spiritual installation at st-francis-by-the-sea-salter-path on the Bogue Banks of North Carolina.

Design & Concept

Unlike a maze, the labyrinth is a single, winding path that leads to the center and back out, designed for contemplation, reflection, and prayer. It follows a traditional Seven-Circuit layout, one of the earliest known labyrinth structures.

History & Setting

• Inception: Conceived in 1997 to serve as a "thin space" where the sacred and secular meet.
• Location: Situated to the east of the church at the end of the Memorial Garden brick walkway, facing east directly across from the fountain.
• Access: Fully accessible to people of all abilities. It is open to the public daily from dawn to dusk.
