The outdoor Labyrinth at st-francis-by-the-sea-salter-path is a spiritual tool located on the Bogue Banks. Conceived in 1997 as a "thin space" where heaven and earth intersect, it offers refuge and peace.

Features & Design

  • Design: Based on the Seven-Circuit layout, one of the earliest designs.
  • Location: East of the church, accessible via the Memorial Garden brick walkway (opening is opposite the fountain).
  • Hours: Open daily from dawn to dusk. Large groups (15+) should contact the church in advance.

Events & History

  • Dr. Amanda Todd's Visit: On September 6, 2025, Dr. Amanda Todd, a recognized authority on labyrinth history, hosted an instructional visit on its ancient history and makeup.
  • Community Events: Features seasonal gatherings such as the April 22 BYOC (bring your own chair) social evening.
